Program

Prevention Services

We are committed to fostering prevention-oriented communities that contribute to healthier living at all stages of life. Prevention programs and priorities in the Capital Area region include tobacco-free living, preventing drug abuse and underage alcohol use, healthy eating, active living, reproductive health, mental and emotional well-being and violence-free living. Our investments in prevention complement and support our treatment and care services. Partners from all sectors acting together are needed to implement best practice strategies that promote healthy choices by individuals, build strong families, and enhance supportive communities. Success in prevention means people will live longer and healthier, while keeping health care costs down.
